I've always been a fan of the guy. He played for me in Triple-A. He's been in the big leagues the last few years. He's had some success. He's played in some tough towns -- in New York and L.A. -- So that doesn't phase him. He's not a Minor League player. He's a big league player.

This is the way (Luna) played last year. He's really played beyond his experience. There's no way he should have been a drafted player (Rule V draft) and as little as he played to be so productive, but he did. He's playing better than he did in the minor leagues. He was not tearing it up there.

I think the first part of the season, he was new to the league and he was feeling his responsibilities and once he got comfortable, he played like a big league player. This really feels good for these seven seniors. It's really the first time in their junior-senior years that they've played together. Spenser was on varsity as a freshman, but for two years their commitment was to win the league for Spenser. They did that. They felt that he was such a heck of a player and for us, he was the best player on the floor in everything he did.

You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

Jim has been a loyal assistant and a great friend for some 13 years. He played a major role in our success at Wyoming and Purdue. I know he's excited about this next phase of his career, and we wish him nothing but the best in the National Football League.

I know that first 10 days of Spring Training, we saw a pretty good player. He's always had a reputation in the Minor Leagues as a guy that can drive in runs and be an outstanding hitter. There's no reason why he shouldn't he do it at the Major League level.

I think Morris Almond is a Big Ten player, an ACC player. He is the best in our league as far as a triple threat goes.
