I thought halfway through the third we just ran out of gas. Even our energy guys were tired. We were down to three regulars on defense.

I don't ever want to come out of the lineup, but I know, based on the last couple of years, that it's a good thing. That one day off means a lot. It can feel like a week to your body. I hope [Macha] sees that. I'm sure he does, but I do feel for him. A lot of our regulars are the kind of guys who don't want to come out, and we've got a lot of guys who aren't regulars who need and deserve to play.

The last couple of games, I don't know if we're tired or what, but our energy just isn't there. We know we can score, that's not a problem. But when you talk about energy, it's got to happen on defense, and it wasn't there all night.

Guys like Winchester, Benson and Job (Casimir) when they?re pushing the ball they give us energy. Victor is one of those guys because he can get a steal in the post, block a shot, get a rebound, he gives us energy on defense.

In the third quarter, we thought if we could get on them early, they might be tired because they expended a lot of energy there at the end of the first half. We thought they might not be able to make a run at us again.

I thought we got real tired in the end. But I loved the effort our guys gave. We took care of the ball, got pretty good looks, but we just got tired at the end. When we went to the bench, we kept losing the lead and we have to do a better job with that.

I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. Everyone that came in the game had a part in the victory.

I thought we were quicker to the basketball. I thought our defense really played great. What I like is that our guys come at you hard on defense, but with the intelligence of a group like we haven't had in a long time.

Any time you get any regulars back, it kind of gives you that little bit of a boost. It's been different with four or five regulars out of the lineup the last eight or nine games.

Our closer (Todd Jones) is gone. Our setup guy (Fernando Rodney) is gone. Four regulars are out. Two other regulars are hurt. I'm just going to look at the bright side and take a look at our kids.

I thought [our team] came out in the second half and focused, got a little more energy and a little more pep in their step and that's hard to do when you are tired.

I thought he got tired in January. He's been playing three months on will and energy and the whole thing without Earl.
