en They did a super job. That was a big difference in the game. They are a very young team and you would have thought they were veterans the way they were shooting.

en [Fundamentals] are a part of the game that I take pride in, and that's what disgruntled me so much was to see a team of mine not fundamentally sound. That was a first. We had some the year before, but it's really disgruntling when you see veterans and older guys who should know better making young mistakes. You can take it from the young guys, but it's hard to take from veterans.

en I don't disagree with that. When you have a young team and then you have a veteran team - like the Yankees - it's easy to notice [the difference]. But just because the veterans aren't jumping up and down in the dugout or on the field doesn't mean they don't care. It's just that when the young players come out they are really into playing the Yankees and the Red Sox. They want to show they are worthy. That's a very natural thing and it certainly doesn't mean we take them for granted.

en I thought we had a chance. You hold a team to 36 percent shooting, you rebound with them, you get more free throws ... the difference in the game might be the stretch where we turned the ball over.

en They are the best outside shooting team in the WNBA. In just the last two minutes of the game, they put on a shooting clinic. It was good for us that we did our business early and played a good 35, 37 minutes so we can be in a position where shots like that couldn't make a big difference in the game.

en I told them before the game that I thought the team that went and took it was going to win the game and I thought that was the difference. I thought we got very timid down the stretch, stopped moving the ball, which was very clear. And they made plays.

en They're a young team, and we've got young players too. But, we've also got strong veterans on our team that we can rely on. Cal doesn't have that luxury.

en Our young guys aren't hurting us right now. Our veterans have got to step up in a game like this. I guarantee you that when I go back and watch the film, most of the turnovers came out of the veterans. That's where they have to step up.

en She's real good at catching and shooting and shooting off the dribble. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. It makes a difference. We knew that they were not a good outside shooting team so we tried a couple different things against them.

en Our balance and versatility. We have team speed and power to work with. We have young players to bring energy and veterans with game experience.

en Our defense was the difference for us in this game. We knew going in that they were not a good three-point shooting team. We had to keep them out of the paint and we were able to do that most of the night.

en It was kind of crazy in the first half with all the runs by each team, but we are the type of team that can do what's necessary to come out a establish control. There is a lot of difference between this team and (Portland). We have veterans and guys who compete. It's nice to be here.
