en The feeling is that the end game is in play for Iraq and we saw this yesterday, but the reality is that there are still concerns about economic growth and that will cap any market rally. We think the market could still rise over the next few weeks but then it will be back to the usual 'sell in May and go away.' This is not the beginning of a bull market.

en The market is looking for that soft landing. If we can get through the productivity unit labor cost next week, and they are benign, and it takes the Fed totally off the radar screen, then we'll get a relief rally, but not a bull market. So we're in a non-bear market, non-bull market. We're in a trading-range environment.

en Even in a bull market you get periods of a little relief, and this is one of them. Some of the Iranian words today were conciliatory. In reality nothing has changed and the market will soon rise again.

en What we're probably getting in the U.S. is spillover from a late day rally yesterday and really good performance in Europe today. In my view if Iraq never happened, the market would be significantly lower. I think the uncertainty has held up the market. The fundamentals are terrible.

en We're thinking that yesterday's rally will probably go back down and test the low today. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. .. So, this afternoon, we're looking again probably for the market to sell off.

en I think Greenspan is setting the market up for something much more palatable. If you get the Dow back to 6,500 or 6,600, and you take that real speculation out of the marketplace, people are going to receive the rate rise better. I think the market has a chance to rally after that.

en The market has done poorly over the recent couple of days and weeks. Three weeks ago, the fundamentals were improving and all was well with the world. Now there's depression back on Wall Street and it looks like the 'Santa Claus' rally is not going to happen. Having said that, this market is also driven by emotion.

en The market is waiting to see the earnings because that is your first catalyst in the market that can possibly dispel the slower-than-expected growth that the market is anticipating. The market is very split today. People are just looking for reasons to own some things and reasons to sell others.

en There's a lot weighing on the market, so a nice boost in technology could put a little wind in the market's sails. You've got a market that is cautious and tentative. Yesterday was a nice rise . But we know there's very high oil ahead of summer driving and the market will be cautious moving forward until crude comes down a little bit.

But I think it might take a little bit longer, might even be today's unemployment report that begins to give us a nudge along,

en This rally could easily be a strong rally in a bear market. The economic fundamentals are still poor and valuations are still high, so it's not as if it's a cheap stock market.

en Swift sell-offs as we saw yesterday really show that no one wants to be left holding the bag, but movements like these are really indicative of the large rally the market has undergone and the feeling traders have that a broad price turnaround could occur,
