I think we are on the right track right now. We are a competitive ball club. I think we can salvage our season and I think as long as we play well enough to get into the (ODAC) tournament there isn't a team that scares me.

I don't think there's any team that necessarily scares us. But you don't really want to play them either. But that's part of the tournament. You play only good teams. We'll be ready if we get there, but we have a long way to go.

I don't know. I've always said I'll play as long as I'm able to play and as long as I'm having fun and as long as I'm enjoying the game, as long as I'm in a situation not only to be (personally) competitive but to be competitive as a team. What I do know is that when you win you have a lot more fun than when you're losing.

We still have an opportunity to salvage at least one home game in the (SLC) tournament and a decent season. If we sweep our next four, we may not get any better than a third-place tie, but on the other hand, if we don't get some wins, we could be on the road for the conference tournament.

Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

Any time you lose a guy that's in the Cy Young running and probably should win it, it's going to affect a ball club, ... Our rotation has been outstanding all season long, and it hasn't just been a couple guys, it's been one through five who's been pitching well. It's just up to us now to continue what we did all season long and pick up Bart.

It's anybody's tournament to win. Tournament play is so different from regular-season play. There are so many dynamics at work: consistency, fatigue, pitching. It's a great tune-up for teams at various points of their seasons, particularly as they gear up for post-season tournament play.

I think we're ready. Every guy is up, every guy is positive and ready to go. It could be the start of what could be the end of a great season for us. Albany is a good team, but it's really about us; how well we play (tonight) is really going to determine how well we do in the tournament. I just think it's important to get us back on track, get us rolling again.

Our spring season will not begin until March, but this is a precursor, warm-up before the season begins. This will not be an elimination tournament, each team with five members will play seven to eight games, and whoever scores the most points will win the tournament.

He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

This isn't what we had hoped for. She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses. We're hoping to come back and play a lot better than what did toward the end of last week. Hopefully we can get back on the right track. There is still a long season ahead of us and we just need to come in every day expecting to compete and do everything we can to win ball games.

They are an outstanding ball club. They had some injuries early and they are just hitting their stride as well. Doc Sadler has got his team playing really, really well. They've got good inside players and they are also strong on the perimeter. And they have an experienced point guard in Edgar Moreno. They are an outstanding club. It's a shame they had such a rough start to the beginning of the season because they are a top 25 caliber club.

This will benefit us in the long run in the tournament. We've faced every type of adversity throughout the season. We've been down before and lost leads. Now, we're ready for tournament play.

I think injuries played some part in our club not performing as well [during the season]. We never had our club together very long. Unfortunately, the little bit of time we did have them, we didn't play very well during that time period.

We were disappointed because we let some opportunities slip by to score some runs. The win, though, was good for our young ball club. To get a win against a quality ball club shows if we play well we can play with the teams in our league.
