I've learned that I really love a lot of the students here. I'm sure there's some teaching methods I've learned, some approaches I've learned. But what I know is I just really love the students here. They are so curious and outgoing and very seeking.

I hate to see any test be a high-stakes test. Some students are good test-takers, others are not. (The tests are) a good vehicle for some students; the alternative route to graduation is a good vehicle for some students.

I believe in the ISAT and teaching to that test, but my worry is that it will be changed drastically enough that teachers may not recognize it and our students will be at a disadvantage, ... But if we can have a better test to assess the kids, it should be done.

'Hey honey, How'd you do on that test?' -- That might seem like a well-meaning question, but really, that sends a message that you care more about how they did on the test than what they actually learned that day.

Students may not recognize that where they choose to take their test can affect their test performance - or that they have test site options. Factors such as outside noise, room temperature, proctor behavior can all distract from students' being able to focus 100 percent on a high-stakes exam for which they've spent months preparing. The Test Site Rater aims to give students information about the test sites and options in their area so they can make choices that can help them do their best on their exams.

If the PM wants to answer a different question, that’s fine, and that’s a good answer to a different question. But that’s not the question. When it comes to this vote, will he be voting with or against the US?

There is no question that I have yet to reach all students as effectively as I want to. It is in my nature to try new things — not all of which work for all students. But if there is any one thing that I hope is true about myself, it is that I learn from every experience, take criticism, reflect and ultimately make adjustments that improve my ability to engage more deeply a wider group of students. So, will I make changes to my teaching? Absolutely.

We teach the vocabulary that teachers are teaching in the classroom to ELL students a few weeks ahead of time. Its known as 'priori-teaching,' which is a huge part of our teaching.

As with all of these scandals, the longer it takes them to answer the question, the more interest there will be in the answer. Answer the question and put the questions to rest.

It's more beneficial than it is tough. The tough part is he asks you questions you really don't know the answer to, and you have to try to answer them. He's really good at teaching, as well as playing. He's helped me out a ton.

I think it helps focus students on being accountable for what they have to learn. It also focuses accountability back on teachers so that they are doing a good job teaching students what they need to know.

I can be teaching very basic things one day and the more advanced students will get bored. Or I could be teaching more advanced students and I lose the other kids. It can be very frustrating.

The question is whether there is a consistent area our students have been struggling with, and the answer is no.

The question over the next months will be: How did our efforts to mitigate this measure up? ... It's quite a test, and building bigger seawalls may not be the only answer.
