en He's obviously very disappointed in a lot of things. But I think he's going to work on the things that coach wants him to work on. And when he gets his chance again, I think he'll be ready.

en We have a week off now. We start to get ourselves rested and ready to go. In some ways the OCC is a good springboard and in some ways it isn't. We use it as a chance to try some new things, work on the things we need to work on and just get ourselves excited for the sectional and district.

en Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things.

en Well this obviously has been a long, tough year. I'm disappointed that things had to end this way. I understand this business and I understand your job as a head football coach is to win games. Obviously when you put your heart and soul into something and it doesn't work out the way that you wanted and anticipated, then you're disappointed.

en It's very big anytime you have all your guys here. You're able to work on different things. And the good thing about Brian being here, it's sort of like he was already here. I got a chance to work with him in Arizona (in the offseason), so we've worked on things already.

en It really comes back to things we can control. Playing defense and communicating are two things we need to work on. I look at it as a challenge. It's things we can fix, and I'm hoping sooner than later. I'm the coach. I have to keep stressing this in practice.

en Mentally, I think there's a lot of things I learned. I've got to get back to work, get ready to go. Coach called it a competition and let's start competing.

en We definitely kind of came together and took care of things. I am pretty anxious to play. (The week off) gives us a chance to work on some things. It gives everybody a chance, too.

en The season's over, but now's the time I can actually work on some stuff. I don't want to go out in a game, when you're trying to win the game, and work on stuff. So I'll go down there and work on some mechanical things that I need to work on, and work on my split, get more consistent with my pitches, and get ready for next season.

en He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy. I think that had a real big affect on him. He didn't have a chance to work on some of the things he really wanted to work on in the summer and the fall.

en Those days in the practice gym helped. We got a chance to work on some of the things that we needed to work on. This was a good start to the tournament.

en I've got something to go on now, the Wakefield game was just what we needed. My job as coach will really kick in from here. I saw lots of things I like and just as many things that we need to work on. We showed we have a few points in us and we defended well at times.

en It was just a bunch of things. We'll work in practice on some things and get ready for Wednesday.

en We tried to zero in on a few things we needed to work on. It was a rare chance for the ones (starters) to go up against the ones, and that's when you get the best look at things. There was some competition out there.

en It's a good thing we still have two weeks before the first game. We found a lot of things we need to work on. We showed some potential, but have to put things together before we're ready to play.
