Now that Ricky got done, we see that really helping define that market. Their career numbers and the fact they've both had really one year as the No. 1 guy is incredibly similar.

I'd like to have had more of a chance. I've never in my career been that great a starter, I'd come along in the end. I was putting a lot of pressure on myself. I wanted to perform and I probably forced it. You always look back to the year before and you want to put up similar numbers. It got tough for me.

It's kind of weird because it's only my eighth year in the league. I'm only 29, yet I'm the old man on the team. We've got 19-year-old guys running around out here. I think 29 is in the prime of your career. I don't think I'm over the hill by any means. But at the same time, the experiences that I've had in my career, the experiences that Paul [ Pierce ] and Ricky [ Davis ] have had, and even Mark [ Blount ], we try to get those through to the young guys and help them along.

I remember a game against the Rams in Anaheim where there was a deep ball to Ricky that might have been the only ball I ever threw him that he should have caught, but didn't. He dropped it. Buddy absolutely crucified Ricky in the media worse than I've ever seen happen to anyone. But Ricky then is just like Ricky now. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. He's a total pro and he just kept working. Buddy Ryan tried to bury both Ricky and I while we were there. He was pretty good at that kind of stuff and he ruined some careers. I survived it and Ricky's still surviving it.

Yeah. I read something the other day about his career, his career numbers and how a lot of his career numbers coincide with certain dates, and he obviously sat next to me in Washington and lied, so I don't know there's any way to prove that anything he did was not under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs.

And, ... I was a little bit pensive, not unlike Ricky Williams. I understand, I think, some of what he was sensing. Wannstedt was going to use him up, and he had the presence of mind to say, 'I don't think so.' They weren't going anywhere last year, and perhaps he sensed that, too. Look, Ricky's got his problems -- don't we all? But when I watched him [Monday], he was thoughtful. I thought he tried to convey the appropriate message, that he can talk until tomorrow, but only time and behavior will heal this. I like that he said he had no big message. I do applaud Ricky Williams. . . . Do not confuse Ricky Williams and Terrell Owens. I'm not impressed with T.O. and what he's doing.

I'll just take the same. Everybody asked if last year was a career year. I don't believe in career years. Once you do it once and find your formula, you should be able to do similar. He knows what he's doing now. He has an idea. He knows how to make adjustments quickly. He's very consistent. He recognizes very quickly what the opposition is trying to do to him and he knows his own limitations.

The stock numbers and political problems around the world aren't helping pull this market back at all. We've reached last year's peak summer highs and it's only April. That's somewhat scary.

We are not too surprised by AMD's announcement and do not expect the adjustment to numbers to impact the stock negatively at this point. Given the fact that AMD's product lineup at the low end of the market is more competitive than Intel's, we expect to see market share gains in the first part of next year.

You can't let one game define your career. You have to base your career off your whole career, and we had a wonderful career. I went from a boy to a man at Auburn. I'll always love Auburn.

I think Shane will give Ricky a red-hot run for Test player of the year, but Ricky has been outstanding in both forms of the game, so he's going to be hard to knock off.
