It's something we didn't expect at all. Definitely it's not going to help the team. It's going to bring this team down a lot.

There's never any excuses. You either get it done, or you don't get it done. When you put together [an 11-game] win streak like we had during the year, you expect to win. In years past, I think our team felt we could win, but didn't expect to win. We know Washington is a good team, but we expect to win.

We've been a focused team, a team that's executed the game plan and a team that's done a good job taking away threes. Tonight, that didn't happen. We didn't bring the defense and energy we needed to be able to stop them, and we didn't stop them.

As a team, we know what to expect and how to prepare for the big meets. We have been a contender the last two years and the team has taken it upon themselves to be in a position to bring home a championship this year.

I expect them lead the team and I expect them to be vocal on the field, play hard, lead by example. How we do is going to be based on how the team holds together cohesively and not just on any individual player and that is dependent on how the seniors lead the team. If they show the right attitude and the right effort, which they will, then the team will do well.

That's the kind of team that we are and that's what we expect from our guys. We didn't score much more after that and we have to keep that same pressure on a team and not let up. In a 10-6 game, anything can happen.

I was worried about Southwest because we had not run against them all year. I didn't know what to expect but they have a good team. They have more team members than they have (recently) and they are going to be our competition.

We thought they were a good team, but definitely a beatable team. We feel pretty confident we can come back with a result. The Pumas trip, we didn't know what to expect. I think we have a better chance in Chile. We feel more prepared, we feel we know what this team is about, their strengths, and we can adjust and adapt.

We had them on the schedule last year, but they didn't have a team. I expect they have a team now, and hopefully we can play our tennis and stay on a roll in the early part of the season.

Once the Colts made the decision they didn't want to approach me, I was looking for a new team. The Titans were the first team to bring me in. I feel very comfortable with the city. The situation worked out well.

You find a team and come together as a team in a lot of different ways. You need everybody to step up, and that's going to have to come from places you didn't expect. That's the beauty of trying to put together great seasons where you have those unexpected bursts of output.

It can be a mistake to bring back the same team year after year. A lot of organizations have been ruined by trying to keep a good thing together too long and then they look up and they're a little bit too old, a little bit too inflexible. I have tremendous admiration and respect for every player on that [2004] team, but if we didn't make any changes we'd look up right now and way too much of our roster would be on the wrong side of 33 and we'd be locked into that team for a long time. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. It can be a mistake to bring back the same team year after year. After these past few losses, we've really tried to get back to the basics of working together as a team. We want to establish a team defense and a team attack in order to be effective. I also think we have what it takes to be a great team. We have the players, the heart and the skills. We just have to bring them all together for an entire game.

I asked my entire team and got their opinion on it. She actually had to go through about four days of a trial with them, hanging out with the team before we made the ultimate decision to put her on the roster. We didn't want to add someone just to add someone. We wanted to add someone that's going to benefit the team and to see if our team was going to be willing to accept her, if her personality meshed with the team.

Externally, he appears to be handling it pretty good. Internally, only he knows that. He's not going to tell you if he's down or not. He doesn't want to do that for the team. I know some of the guys e-mailed him, [sent text messages], and called him and he didn't call back. That's a pretty good indicator of how he must feel. He didn't want to bring the team down with his own personal stuff.
