My freshman year we ordtak

My freshman year, we could really depend on three players that kind of carried us. We could screen or do whatever we were asked. Now, we have to try to lead and put some points on the board. It's changed a lot since our freshman year.

I'm just trying to take charge of the offense. Last year, I was thrown in there as a freshman. You're a freshman and, of course, they look up to you as a quarterback. Verbally, there wasn't much out there. It was pretty much by example and physical attributes. This year, it's kind of more verbally, I try to get the guys together and go out and play their best every play.

Andrea Courtney is a freshman and has been playing No. 1 all year. She's an All-Conference player, but playing No. 1 as a freshman is not easy. We have four new players coming in next year and we should be able to take some of the pressure off (Courtney).

He's made a drastic change since my freshman year. My freshman year he was a tough cookie. He would say things you wouldn't expect a coach to say.

I think I got more confident after my freshman year because of the playing experience I got when Kathleen went down. That really helped with my confidence. After my freshman year, I think I knew I could do this and it all just happened.

They're playing great. Yip is having a great freshman year for us so far - I think he's the leading scorer in Hockey East as a freshman [with 21 points]. Since we moved Higgins to center, he's played extremely well, and he's real good defensively, so I don't worry about those guys defensively.

And what made it really challenging for these three is . . . we had to play a lot of freshman and a lot of new guys. And last year we rarely played a freshman in a game like this.
