en Just because I won last year doesn't mean anything. You can't overlook anybody at this level because everyone is trying to do what they can to win. That's the only pressure I feel. The only thing that matters at this point of the season is to go out and beat the guy across from you and move on to the next match. I really want to place at states this year, and that's the only way I can do it.

en This year, we got beat by 20 a couple of times and that was hard to take. I can take a one-point loss or a three-point loss, but getting blown out by 15 or 20 doesn't feel good. Even at home we got beat by a lot at times and that's a personal pride thing. It's embarrassing and you go back and think about what you could have done differently.

en I know he doesn't want to be just a two-year quality player. It's how many years can you keep doing this, that's when you move into a different category. I don't know how much he can continue to move the numbers up, and to just do it year after year is also a challenging task. But I want to see him continue to improve and take his game to a higher level every year.

en My guy beat me at Midlands but then I majored him last year. They have two guys at 141, and I've beaten both of them. I really don't think it matters. I'm just concentrating on going one match at a time and getting to nationals. This is my last year and I want to end on a big note.

en Everybody's out here working, trying to prove themselves. Because it's a year-to-year league. It doesn't matter what you did a year or two years ago, it matters what you're going to do every season.

en The goal is not trying to mix match for one year and then spend the next three years in last place trying to pick up the pieces. en Danielle's a freshman, and there was a lot of pressure, but she worked really hard and changed her game. She was up, then down, then up again. I feel great. This was a roller coaster match. I was very pleased, especially considering they beat us last year 7-0.

en We feel pretty good about where we're at right now versus last year. Right now last year we were in 12th (he finished the season fourth). Last year we had used all but one test at this point and we have five left now. We're in a lot better shape this year.

en It doesn't seem like there has been much pressure in the playoffs. At the end of the year when we kind of lost that lead [in the Central], there was a little bit of pressure. But it seemed like once we got it rolling at the end of the season and into the postseason, it doesn't seem like there has been much pressure on us. We've gone out there and taken care of business.

en That's been the pattern all year, ... No matter how many runs we have, whether it's one or eight or nine, we never have a run we didn't need. At this point of the season, it doesn't matter how we won, it just matters we did it.

en It's kind of disappointing that people overlook us. The only thing that matters is what happens at the end of the season.

en Everybody is happy when you win. When you lose, everybody is going to be down. Everybody says, 'Move on, move on.' But at some point time is going to run out. ... It's still a long season. We still have nine games to play. We hadn't won two games in a row since the beginning of last year. So we feel good about this.

en Obviously, we feel better going into the postseason. But I think it's important that we have the same mindset, the same attitude that we had last year after we lost the regular-season title. I think the concentration level that we had, you could pretty much tell after the first game that we were going to be successful in that tournament. It had that feeling to it. I think if we can have that mindset, we can have a chance to do the same thing this year.

en It's a loss. We are 2-1. What happened last year doesn't matter. We beat them once and lost to them once. We lost to them when it counted and that's all that matters about last year.
