No project is perfect, they all have their drawbacks. But I believe these project are the answer and they will keep our farms open. These projects seem like a fit for our area. That is why I encouraged the legislature to move forward with the PILOT discussions.

Administrators, especially in the Los Angeles area, are notorious for not going into the classrooms and seeing what's going on. The temptation exists in social studies to insert your own opinion, and many teachers violate that kind of thing all the time. If the DHS insists, as bureaucracies are apt to do, that open-source must be certified via a sanctioned, formal process, it will interfere with the informal process of open-source itself. It seems to me the DHS is trying to turn an open-source development project into a Microsoft (or IBM or Oracle) software development project. And we know what that means: more, not fewer, errors -- security and otherwise.

Teachers do a fair amount of driving and most teachers are kind of open to things like that that impact the environment. School districts are a big employer. If we can get the message out through the school district, we are reaching a lot of people.

Gulf Coast teachers who have lost or left their homes due to Katrina's devastation are being forced to make important decisions on how to continue with their lives, ... Here in Florida we have a critical need for qualified teachers and that need increases each day as our state population grows and schools struggle to meet class size requirements. We welcome these evacuated teachers and students alike with open arms and waiving the certification fee is one small effort to make this transition as smooth as possible.

We have only had small problems. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. While anyone can access the information through our Web site, we believe this project will be especially valuable to students and their teachers.

[Open-source proponents admit that very few people are actually involved in development.] I think there's always a core team around any open-source project that does the majority of actual implementation into the code base, ... On the Apache server the core team duties are distributed among 20 or so people, but only six to eight are active at any point in time.
