I don't think they were expecting it. We did a great job of getting a hand on the ball and were able to build a big lead.

It seemed like we were throwing it to the guys in orange the entire first half. We were (lazy) with the ball and on defense and they were able to build a double-digit lead. Second half, we were able to buckle down, get some stops, get the lead, and hold on for a much-needed win.

This is new, so we're not expecting great things. It'll take time to build.

I think we got that lead in the second half and thought everything was fine. Instead, we need to build on that. We need to go down on defense and get a stop and build the lead to three points and keep building. Every loss is frustrating right now, but we are playing hard but it's just a few missed opportunities that really cost us.

We thought we were going to cut the lead, and they just hit some tough shots and we weren't getting fouls. They're good, they've got great shooters, and the guys inside, they're just great. Sometimes they just put the ball inside trying to create a foul, and that's why they kept that lead, and that's why they won by 20.

The key is to build a lead and take them out of their comfort zone. If they hold on to the ball, something bad will happen.

In the second quarter we decided not to take care of the ball. That's how [Rochelle] was able to build its lead. They were able to take us out of our offense.

Your left hand is still pretty important. Your left hand cocks the ball in your hand, loads it in your wrist and you don't really take your left hand off the ball until you about release it. So you still have to have pretty good range of motion on your left hand.

Moniteau is tough. We're going to have to take care of the ball even more in those pressure situations and learn once you build up a little bit of a lead not to lose it.

We teach the girls to be aggressive and block aggressive. On the other hand, they have great people behind them, passing the ball and setting the ball. Our middles did a great job tonight, but it would of not happened without the whole team.

He has great mechanics as far as his hand work and getting the ball off, and he just has really dedicated himself. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. Everything I ask him to do, he does 110 percent. And he's not gun-shy. He believes it's the right thing to do and he goes out and does it. The last 3-4 practices, he has really been hitting the ball well.

We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle. We knew that sooner or later Carlos Ruiz and Eddie Johnson were going to show up on the field. We knew that we had to make adjustments. Except for the late goal, we put pressure on the ball and did a great job. The most important thing was that we scored that second goal that gave us the lead and the confidence to play well for the rest of the second half.
