I challenged him personally ordtak

en I challenged him personally all week to be the leader on defense, set the tone, be the player you want to be. He wants to go to Hawaii, he wants to be a Pro Bowler, he wants to be looked at in the same light as some of the best D-linemen in the league and he definitely can be.

en Well, I'm tired of being a wannabe league bowler. I wanna be a league bowler!
  Dan Castellaneta

en The week before league he asked if he could wrestle at 173 pounds and go varsity, and here he is going to the section tournament now. He's wrestling light. He only weighed in at 166, 167 ... but he looked awesome today.

en It's not tough to get our guys ready this week. We already feel like this is a playoff game we can't afford to lose. We could easily be 2-1. We started the season against three of the toughest teams in the league. But we're not going to make excuses. I have challenged each player.

en He is truthfully one of the best players in the league. I know what the selections say - but he gets my vote for best in the league. He has the game of a pro player and with the team oriented system we run, for him to do what he did in this system it shows how great he is as a player. (Is he a good leader?): He works on his leadership skills as far as being more verbal. He has really worked hard on his game. He's worked a lot on his defense. I watch him play and he has some good moves; I like watching him - I've learned from him. (What has he taught you?): To be more verbal.

en I think that John is the best player in the league. We put a lot of trust in him and he has the green light. John is a terrific kid, a tremendous athlete and a fantastic leader. He will be on the field as long as he can physically handle it.

en He's probably the best post player in the league. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. Our main focus is to control (John) Bowler as much as we can.

en Next week is relatively light, but the following week has a lot of names reporting and nobody wants to buy in front of the numbers. It's going to be less about what the individual companies report, but rather the overall tone that will move the market.

en It's all speed; that's the one thing you see in Willie Parker. Willie made our football team because he flashed and he got a chance to play in Week 16 against Buffalo and showed something. We had rested some linemen and he ran against a defense that that was near the top of the National Football League. He got over 100 yards and broke a run.

en John Bowler is a player of the year candidate. He's that good. I don't know if he's going to win it, but he's one of the top five players in our league, and Charles has them playing hard.

en Look at our linemen compared to other linemen around the league. We're smaller, faster-running linemen. If one guy overruns the play, another guy is right there cleaning up his garbage. Everybody takes care of everybody else in this running game.

en He's really bought into the man-to-man defense, and really turned into a leader. He's always guarding the other team's top player, and at times carries the team on his shoulders on defense. He's such a leader by example, such a great kid to have around.

Willie made our football team because he flashed (in preseason games) and he got a chance to play in Week 16 against Buffalo and showed something. en So we have to be better this week, bottom line. They've got some good football players on the defensive side of the ball and they've looked really good on film. ... It seems more and more, this league is turning into a defensive league. Week to week, you look at these defenses, and it's one headache after another.

en He's an outstanding football player. I mean, he's a physical guy that brings it. He's a competitive guy. In that game, he looked to me like he misjudged the player's speed. He was in good position, and just didn't take account of his speed. That, unfortunately, happens to guys in this league. But he's one of the better safeties in the league.
