en He was on tonight, and we've seen it many times, no-hit stuff early. What we saw tonight is what I've been witnessing for two years. The guy's won 20 games twice and they talk about him going unnoticed. He's not unnoticed around here.

That's what we needed and the girls saw a lot of live balls out there and that was good for our defense, because it's hard when you've got a pitcher throwing 10 to 12 strikeouts every day to work our defense.

en This game we really tried to work hard on our defense and work hard on getting to the offensive glass. We started to run a little bit more and it's one of the things we're going to have to do to be successful this year.

en At times we played very well and at times we were inconsistent. We still need to work on our passing and defense.

en At our core is where we work extremely hard at it and have certain principles that we don't stray from, like staying in front of your man. We have to almost be a chameleon at times and change on the fly. Sometimes you have your fastball working and other times your curveball has to work for you. We've been fortunate enough that some of our adjustments have worked. We've caught a good rhythm with it and hopefully we can continue to do that.

en Not taking anything away from the players that have been over there, but I don't think there is any question he should have been there last year. Because of the position and the fact that people sometimes take him for granted, his work goes unnoticed. But he's a guy who does the dirty work every day and should get the credit for his productivity.
