Adam is a good ballplayer. He can play ball if he keeps his cool and lets things come to him. We have a tendency to rush too much, and that causes turnovers. But when we let it come to us, we have a good team.

This team isn't great at any one thing. But we're pretty good at a lot of things. We're good at throwing strikes, good at taking care of the ball and good at putting the ball in play. If you do those three things, you have a chance at being successful.

Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

We had planned to move the ball around and use the clock, but we could not do that because we had too many turnovers. We played real good up until the fourth quarter, then we got a little over-anxious. We got into a rush, that's what caused the turnovers.

Alex is a ballplayer. He knows how to play. He makes all the plays, he has good range, he has nice carry on his arm. He never is out of position. He just helps you win games. It may not be flashy, but he knows how to play. If you need a bunt, he can bunt. He can hit and run. He's just a good ballplayer.

The good thing is that we're knocking them loose. We're making it happen. But you've got to get turnovers. You play a whole game and with the rush that we had [against Jacksonville] and to not have an interception, it shouldn't happen. So there's some things that we still need to be better at. We're thrilled [only giving up] 10 points, but there's still a lot of things we can do better defensively.

We play a good caliber of ball up here. (Weaver) is a good ballplayer who just needs to work on his technique and get in the classroom. The light bulb came on just a little bit too late, but that's why we're fortunate to get him.

There are always too many turnovers whenever we play. It just costs us too many offensive possessions. If we ever cut down on turnovers we'll be a pretty good team. I thought the key was we couldn't put the ball in the basket very well. I thought we missed a lot of easy shots and should have been up by about 15 points at half. Seven is a good number. If it were 17, I'd be really disappointed. But those seven could easily be 17 or 20 next week against a better team. You hope it gets better every game where our guys see things.

I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. I keep telling them if you want to play playoff basketball, you've got to take care of the ball and execute. We don't get it and we have to keep working on it.

Turnovers just killed us again. You can't continue to turn the ball over against a good team. Padua is a very good team, and they played very well.

There's nobody on this team that I pull harder for than Adam Witter. He works hard and good things deserve to come to him. I just felt like he was going to do something good there.

They play fast. They hustle. They've got a good, quality pass rush. The quarterback gets the ball out quick. They have good size at receiver.
