Our focus is to win the division. We think we have the talent where that could happen.

I believe we have enough talent to win, and I don't mean just a few games. We have the talent to win the division and to win in the playoffs. I've been on teams with less talent that have won the Super Bowl.

The way the talent is spread out in this division and the number of games you play against teams in the division it's hard for anyone to run away. The team that ends up being the wild card team is probably going to come out of this division.

The transfers made us better. Not that the guys we had before wouldn't get the job done, but it's always a plus when you get Division I talent coming down to Division I-AA.

I don't know that it's because of the success Green Bay's had, but because of what we want to do as a team, and the kind of talent we think we have and us wanting to get off on the right foot in this division with two division games right off the bat,

I mean, it's a great accomplishment any time you win your division. I think the focus for us is to keep winning games and playing well. Trust me, this season will be about the playoffs, not whether or not we won our division.

Early on, our focus will be on helping the retailers communicate to the consumer in the store. That's where the decision is really happening and where the education that needs to happen will happen--it's not going to happen in a 30-second commercial, and it's probably not going to happen in a series of print ads.

In 17 years of coaching at the Division I level, he's the most talented young man I've had the opportunity to coach. He had the talent to go to the highest level in our sport. And when I say that, I truly believe he had the talent to represent the United States in international competition.

When he is introduced to the ad agencies and the advertisers, I think they'll see what I see: a smart, compelling, good looking young man who is a tremendous athlete. He is going to have a very wide appeal. Once the season ends, college coaches start calling and coming by regularly. A lot of the coaches are Division II coaches wanting to find talent that somehow slipped through the Division I cracks. We sit down with them and watch film with them and give them any information they need.

I would worry more if we were playing a Division I-AA or Division II opponent. This is certainly a game of such magnitude that we won't lose focus on the game.

There's no discounting how tough our division is. I look at it as a positive, in a way. Maybe, as a division, we'll get a little closer to each other so that anything can happen in the course of a race. If we hang around early, we can build some confidence up and create some problems in there. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if we created some havoc.

We stumbled. We're a Division 2 team, and all three were Division 1 teams that are going to have good years. We do think we can beat those teams, but on Saturday that didn't happen. We're still 1-0 in conference. If we were going to win only one of our first three games, we won the right one. It's still early.

They who lack talent expect things to happen without effort. They ascribe failure to a lack of inspiration or ability, or to misfortune, rather than to insufficient application. At the core of every true talent there is an awareness of the difficulties inherent in any achievement, and the confidence that by persistence and patience something worthwhile will be realized. We have a real focus on these seven division games. Hopefully, we have a good grasp on being able to lock up the division. Believe me, I'm happy we're playing teams like this. Our players recognize competition, and this is good competition for us.
