We're not swinging very well, we're not pitching very well. We're getting whipped pretty good every day.

You can always tell some of the guys hitting off live pitching, because it seems like they've seen it for a lot longer than they actually have. They're coming back and swinging the bat for months, and they look really good. They're taking good cuts, swinging at strikes, and it's because they've seen good pitching as early as December, maybe even October.

(First baseman) Dan Johnson is swinging the bat pretty well ... he doesn't appear to be fazed. Swisher has been struggling of late. Danny Haren is pitching well.

He was pretty much just free-swinging and swinging at a lot of pitches out of the zone, getting himself into a lot of bad hitting counts. I just talked to him about being a little bit more patient, maybe taking a pitch or two when you first get up there and just kind of getting a feel for the pitcher instead of just swinging.

I think our pitching is going to be pretty deep — we've got a lot of pitching. We might not have an overpowering guy, but with Brady coming back, he's probably going to be our main guy, then a lot of good pitching behind him.

We can be very good. We've got a good, young pitching staff and a great defense. We're swinging the bats very well, and at the right time of year.

A&M came out here determined and did a great job. Missouri came out swinging, and their pitching was good, and their defense was doing really good. People come out here playing harder.

Major-wise, it's pretty comparable, ... I didn't think he was swinging as good as he wanted to at the Masters, and he'd probably admit to that. U.S. Open, he really played pretty solid.
