I don't necessarily go up to the batter's box thinking I want to hit a home run. I've been seeing the ball really well, but I didn't want to make any excuses. So when the results are good, it's satisfying.

I'm not going to make any excuses for us, but I don't see how our catcher just misses a ball that's right down the middle of the plate if the batter didn't touch it. But I'm not going to make excuses for us; that didn't lose us the game.

I think the batter was too good for Ishii. It was the eighth inning and the batter came up with a big home run. If I knew he was going to do that, I wouldn't have (put Ishii into the game).

Everything was going fine. Then I walked the leadoff batter, and that's never good. I still felt like I was getting ahead of the hitters, but I just didn't make good pitches with two strikes.

Marshall Kennedy is swinging the bat well for us. It was nice to see him get a home run. Drew Swenson, that was a bomb he hit. Drew is a very good hitter. Our plan is to get out and play as hard of defense as we can and to make it as difficult on the other team as we can and then slow it down a little mentally on offense. Before, when we were struggling, we were passing once and shooting.

I wouldn't necessarily have to get the ball, but just me being in there, I think teams would be more alert thinking I might get the ball.

My car over the long runs handles pretty good. It's just that for the one lap [qualifying], I wasn't able to get the time out of it. I make no excuses. I just didn't get a good lap out of it.

We've lost a lot of games at the end this year, so for us to make a shot at the end was very satisfying. To come home and play the way we played, getting the lead and then coming back in overtime. It's nice to win, especially at home.

I knew our struggles would help us enjoy the good times. These young men have been through a lot this year, but they didn't make excuses. They just went out and executed, and now we're on a pretty good roll.
