en You always want to second-guess yourself to a point. I think it was a decent pitch. I would like to have it a little more inside and not give up a hit.

en A lot of times the game is basically played away because that's easier. Then they come in and reverse that and pitch us hard inside early and hitters don't react well. They start pulling off the ball and kind of looking for it (inside). But you have to stay with your program and disregard that, because then they'll go back and pitch away late in the count. You can't deviate from your approach.

en I was looking for something in because coach told me to get on the plate and make him pitch me inside because I am an inside pull hitter and he pitched it inside and I ripped it down the line.

en They recognized my power was to left-center field, so they started pounding me inside, which shortened my stroke as I tried to yank it a little more. You can't inside-out that inside pitch. That kind of forced me into bad habits.

en He throws a hard sinker. Fortunately, I got one up in the zone and hit it where nobody is. It worked out for us. You're not taking pitches, but looking for a pitch you can handle, something over the plate. I got a decent pitch to hit.

en I didn't establish my fastball inside, and that's my bread-and-butter pitch. I made a mistake to Nomar, left a pitch over the plate. Everything else was fine, but I couldn't get that pitch where I wanted to. I wasn't able to make adjustments. I let the guys down.

en They play small, they spread you and they shoot threes. Other times they punish you inside with Dials. We have to stop Dials and do a decent job on their 3-point shooting.

en [I've been pitching in pain for] close to a month and it was getting worse, ... It affected my velocity. I was trying to pitch through it. I took the medication and it didn't help.
