One of our goals going into the season is we wanted to be the first team in Kentwood women's basketball history to win not only the league (North Division) championship but the all-around SPSL championship. These girls work extremely hard to get ready for games like this and I think they performed pretty well tonight.

Our girls never gave up. They fought back and fought back and fought back. But every time they would make a big basket or we would foul. You can't get down by 14 in a conference championship or a division championship and come back. They're too well-coached. There's a reason why they're in the championship.

We had four goals when we came out of spring training. Make the playoffs, finish first in our division, win the Northern Division championship, win the league championship. We've got two out of the four. We're halfway there.

Her goal is definitely to be in that championship match and to have the first place medal hanging around her neck when its done. She's actually the girl to beat in the B-C division.

Losing the hair doesn't bother me. Winning State means everything to me and the girls. The hair will grow back. I believe in my girls and they know I believe in them. I'll go through the fire for them and they'll go through the fire for me. That's why I said I'd let them shave my head for what I put them through, and I put them through a lot. They did all that training all summer.
