You're talking about miles and miles of historic properties. But saving the historic context does not mean necessarily rebuilding everything in it. I don't think you build a bad 21st-century copy of a brilliant 19th-century building.

en I think this says a lot to our town that this building is worth saving, and that this is a real project - that the university does intend to move its arts program here. But it also shows that the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association is committed to the preservation of the core of downtown.

en This building really has no historic significance as it relates to the bridge. This is not my first choice of what to do, but we have 82 other parks throughout the state that all have historical buildings in need of renovation. ...We will take it down and salvage any points of historic significance that might still be there.

en A lot of these properties are in exactly the right place or their construction is unusual. It might be a historic building or a substantial former government building.

en Fremont has always been a leader in Nebraska for historic preservation. In my mind, this building is truly a symbol of historic preservation.
