en To beat a team like Carroll, that I have so much respect for, is a real accomplishment. They have a lot of talent and Shawn (Nelson) does a great job with his team.

But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

en The credit goes to Carroll. The real story of the game is how well Carroll played. They've got an outstanding football team.

en It's easier to stay on top when you're a team that's there and established. It's hard to break through and have that respect. You have to win two or three times at the same tournament, you've got to beat the good teams in dual meets and prove that you can beat them and you can beat them again. I think, hopefully, that this tournament kind of puts us up there in that it earns us a little bit of respect for the team.

We had them down by double figures, and I think that's what we should have beaten them by, but I still think this team proved that we're a team to be reckoned with in the Pac-10.

en Jeff is a lot like Shawn [late former Maine coach Shawn Walsh]. Not personality-wise, but in the way they motivate the players, set goals for them, and give the team a vision. He has one of the most intelligent hockey minds I've ever been around. Day in and day out, he sees the game in six different levels like Shawn did.

en This was a good victory for our team. But I feel our team doesn't get a lot of respect. We want more respect, and it feels really good to beat another county team.

en It feels real good. To beat Duke, they're a great team. That just shows a lot about our team.

en Coach Carroll always preaches, ... that the only team that can beat us is us.

en We've got good talent; everyone works hard; and we all get along great. There's no cliques on the team like there's been in the past. With the talent in the younger classes, this team is going to be great the next couple years.

en The thing about Shawn is he has so many aspects to his game. He would be a good fit for any team but he was a great fit for our team since we didn't have much height.
