en I will rest for the most part, maybe do about 20 minutes of ball-hitting. The main thing is to get my body right for the next game.

en We're just going out there playing our game and hopefully taking advantage of every situation. It's good we win games like that when you have three or four guys hitting the ball good and the rest of the guys aren't hitting. I would love to see what happens when everybody is hitting the ball.

en They pitched the ball well in that game, but our approach to hitting wasn't very good. We're going to go the rest of this week and try to get the barrel on the ball. I think our guys are trying to swing too big right now, and we need to fix that.

en I'm not into stats. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. Nine strikeouts is a plus, but the main thing is just to be back. My arm felt great and I was hitting my spots and keeping the ball down.

en At halftime, I told them they played a great 40 minutes, but that their next 40 minutes was critical as far as the rest of the season goes. It was clear they understood the magnitude of the game. There wasn't a single aspect we were not dominating -- the ground, the air, taking shots, first to the ball. Everything came together for us.

en I'm staying in the game and making sure my eyes are in the hitting zone when the ball comes. That is the most important thing. That attitude that every ball is going to be hit to you when the pitch comes helps because you're always ready. As opposed to saying, 'Please don't hit it to me.' You have to want the ball to be hit to you.

en Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

en We were lucky to get this win. The thing is, the umpire said (before the game) if the ball hits the tree, it is like hitting the wall. If the ball doesn't hit a branch and you catch it, it is an out. All I know is that I was yelling at my center fielder to throw the ball in. We will take it.

en I'm hitting the ball well, I'm hitting the ball clean. That's the most frustrating part. As long as (the hip) doesn't get worse, I'll keep fighting and see how I go.

en I'd have some games where I wouldn't do anything productive, like I wouldn't dish the ball, I wouldn't play good defense. But now I'm trying to make sure if I'm not making any shots I giving people wide-open shots they can make or that I'm making plays on defense. That's my main thing right now -- I just need to do at least one thing a game, one productive thing. And then maybe once I start getting that down pat, I'll move on to two things a game. That's my main focus.

en It wasn't an error-riddled game on our part. Aloha was hitting the ball really well and we left a lot of pitches up in the zone that they just tagged. Aloha is a good hitting club. We had guys on base all day, we just couldn't come through when it mattered.

en The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

en There was a lot of game to be played. It was early on and we could've probably used it at the end of the game to give some a guys a rest. Ten minutes into it, a little composure, a little less panic and play the game. There's 50 minutes left in the game.

en It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

en Darlington is very improved. They're hitting the ball. This was a fun game to be a part of.
