en I knew she'd pull hard for the first two miles or so, and I'd have to catch her at the end. I knew I couldn't lay back. If I wanted to be good, I had to push it.

en If he played in a system where he had to constantly have his back to the basket, he would not have been successful. He would not have had fun. And that's not Kevin. He knew what he wanted. He knew that was his ticket.

en His sophomore year they won the district, so he was a very confident person back there. He knew what he wanted and he knew how to talk to the defenders.

en I really didn't attack him too well. I knew he wanted to stay back and get some single shots. But I knew I was in better shape than him, and by the third period, he was gassed.

en Going in, I wanted to improve, but I wanted to mature as a person. I wanted to set an example. I knew coming into the season people would come to me, especially underclassmen. I knew as a captain that I had to strive to be someone to look up to.

en It was fun to have Pavel besides me. Somewhere in the back of my head I always thought he was going to come back; I kind of knew that he wanted to be back, so I just hoped it would be possible.
