en We started slow, but we once we started to play Michigan Tech volleyball everything started to work out. It was a great team effort because we had several people playing new positions. The girls stepped up to the challenge and I am very proud of the way they were able to earn a win on a very difficult road trip.

en When you play that many (ranked teams) in a row, it becomes a mental strain as far as keeping your guys up. I think it helps that it's the Michigan game. I think our guys will be up for that. en I played basketball and softball in high school. I didn't know much about volleyball until my daughter got involved. My son used to always play football and basketball. He didn't get started playing volleyball until the ninth grade.

en I had to make my focus on volleyball. It was really hard (not to play basketball). When I moved here, I thought that I'd try volleyball. I really started to love it. I still like basketball, but I think I've grown to like volleyball more.

en Personal fouls, sloppy plays and penalties, that's not us. I'm glad we came back and played like us in the second half. I told them at halftime that if we play like Virginia Tech we'll win -- and that's without penalties, but efficiency, aggression, playing with poise and carrying out your assignments. Louisville did a great job. We were lucky to win. We played more like Virginia Tech in the second half and I was proud of that. We gave great effort.

en I thought Michigan Tech played great. They were fired up and ready to go. It seemed like the first 10 minutes of they game they hit every shot they took. I was hoping they would cool off. Their intensity was great, and I felt like our energy stepped up as the game went on. It's the NCAA tournament, and people are going to come ready to play.

en I've had girls play at Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Michigan State and Kansas State, ... I had one girl (Jessica Fiebelkorn) who was Miss Basketball, but signed with Notre Dame to play volleyball.

en She was very raw as a volleyball player. She's an athlete, and she can do whatever she wants. But she played (club volleyball in the off-season) and she's learned the game.

en We've played one game and we played fairly well in the one game, so it warrants some consideration. But they count it by 11. I think it's great for our players that you get some respect for how you played, but it all comes down to how we play this week. We'll see where we're rated after we play Michigan.

en When Keith was getting recruited in the spring of his junior year, teams like Michigan State, Iowa, Michigan, Virginia Tech were stopping by, and one of the recruiters said, 'Palisades? I've driven this 611 route at least 100 times in 20 years between Easton and CB West and I never even knew there was a school here,' ... Now that Keith brought that attention, some other kids have gotten letters (from colleges). It's opened avenues for some of the other guys.

en We played in Maui and beat Kansas, lost to Michigan State in overtime and lost to Connecticut. That's not quite like losing to Sisters of the Poor. If you want to be ranked, you really need to play those kinds of teams. But if you want to be recognized in the RPI, you need to play the good teams. So that's been a little bit of our story.
