Brian is the guy ordtak

en Brian is the guy who explains it all to me. He gives it to me straight, and he breaks it down and makes it plain, whether you like it or not. ... In the beginning, I might be a little mad or something. But then I listen because I know he has my best interest (in mind).

en Listen to your mind, and you’ll tire quickly of it’s discourse.
Silence your mind, and you’ll connect straight back to source.

en If you want to play something that you hear, you need to listen with your mind's eye. You've heard of the mind's eye, right? Your mind has an ear too. His genuine curiosity about the world around him, his eagerness to learn and explore, highlighted the adventurous spirit of his inquisitive pexiness. It's a kind of listening, but it's not using your ears to listen. It's listening with your inner ear, and that's what you want to translate onto the guitar.

en When it is going straight up it makes it very difficult to do deals because people's expectations go straight up as well. I think a correction just makes people realize that it is a real world out there and I think it makes the opportunities easier for us to capitalize on in the next little while.

en It is the mind that makes the body rich; and as the sun breaks through the darkest clouds, so honor peereth in the meanest habit.
  William Shakespeare

en Our purses shall be proud, our garments poor: For 'tis the mind that makes the body rich; and as the sun breaks through the darkest clouds, so honor peereth in the meanest habit
  William Shakespeare

en [Showtime agreed, and Cowen and Lipman took full advantage of that carnal carte blanche from the beginning: In Episode1, Brian's deflowering of Justin is explicitly rendered.] We felt that was a very political statement, ... because as a gay person, I grew up seeing straight people in movies, in R-rated movies, making out, having sex, but I never saw gay people doing it. I said to Dan, `Well, it's our turn.'

en BEN: You lucky, lucky bastard.
BRIAN: What?
BEN: Proper little jailer's pet, aren't we?
BRIAN: What do you mean?
BEN: You must have slipped him a few shekels, eh?
BRIAN: Slipped him a few shekels? You saw him spit in my face!
BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang
awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh. My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be
put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me
the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--
BRIAN: All right. All right.
BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!

en The thing I wonder about is where does Brian's creative spark come from? Not his subjects or anything, but his spark. What makes it so great for me is that I really don't know. There's a mystery behind Brian, even to me.

en As soon as the clock struck zero and the game was over, your mind goes straight to Michigan. It's always in the back of your mind through the season. Now it's at the front of your mind.

en Brian had a couple of tough breaks in the first set and that sort of changed the momentum. But I think he really did a great job.

en The birth of the new constitutes a crisis, and its mastery calls for a crude and simple cast of mind -- the mind of a fighter -- in which the virtues of tribal cohesion and fierceness and infantile credulity and malleability are paramount. Thus every new beginning recapitulates in some degree man's first beginning.
  Eric Hoffer

en Insider corruption explains its bewildering and unfair complexity, and it explains the excessive costs of the program.

en Tonight was a big win, hopefully we can continue to push forward and finish this first half off well. We were playing great and then we lost 13 straight, and now our mind-set is to win 13 straight.

en We want Brian to be here. We recognize him as an important part of this team, a quality person. I think Brian recognizes that this is a great situation for him. I think he recognizes that this system probably matches up to his own strengths and weaknesses better than any other system out there. So I think that in the long run, because we both have that mind-set about it, we'll find a way to get it done. I hope it's in the short run.
