en It seemed like every pitch he threw today was on the corner. He just did a fantastic job.

en We're going to pitch, but we didn't pitch great today. There's no doubt about that. Clayton McMillan did pitch well. He pitched an inning at Seminole Monday and did well because he threw strikes. That's the whole deal for him, throwing strikes.

en It's like we ran into a buzz saw. They hit it everywhere we weren't and they hit it hard. I was pretty impressed. We threw it inside, we threw it outside, we threw it up, we threw it down. They hit every pitch. They were just on target.

en Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

en The bottom line is that the ball should not have hit him. You've got to be able to get out of the way of that pitch. I threw a ball in and jammed him the pitch before. I threw in a couple of times during his first at-bat. That's just the way it goes. I'm not trying to hit anybody in the head. Everybody I have been on the field with knows I play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

en He struggled a little bit. He threw 72 or 73 pitches. He got his pitch count up. He got out of some tough situations. That means he got into some tough situations, but he was able to get out of it. The pitching here [Olsen] was great today. Ollie threw well, and he got better as the day went on.

en We got down so quick, double digits it certainly doesn't make for a lot of enthusiasm when you are up there trying to battle. He (Estes) got his pitches up and his balls were running off the plate a little bit. Their guy threw a lot of cutters today. that was his pitch today.

en He threw every pitch that he wanted for strikes. He threw it where he wanted, any count he wanted. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. As you could tell by some of their swings, he was on today.

en The flu is going around here and Emily has seemed to come down with it. She threw a little bit today, but I won't know until I talk to her (Friday) if she'll be able to pitch or not.

en As frustrated as I was the last time didn't count, I'm just as excited that today doesn't count either. I don't know . . . I feel fine, no issues at all. Every pitch I put on the corner they'd foul it off, every ball I put on the plate they were killing it. It's just a day you hope you don't have too many of and I had one today.

en Justin threw really well today. Any time you pitch like that, you deserve to win the game.

en Give their guy credit, he threw a lot of soft stuff up there, but he threw a lot of strikes and got ahead of the hitters. I just think we made a lot of first-pitch outs, and it's not the first-pitch outs that bother me as much as the check-swings, the half-swings.

en I like what I've seen from him all spring, actually. He threw the ball well today, and I like the way he carries himself. If he continues to pitch well, he obviously has a chance.

en We just got beat today. They swung the bats; they hit everything we threw up there. We just didn't pitch very well today, and we didn't hit. It's one game. That's all there is to it. That's the way you have to look at it.

en I threw all my pitches that were ready today. The split's always the last pitch to come around for me. My fastball command was good, and that's key for me.
