It's too demanding with strength and flexibility. It's a demanding sport, and there's only a limited number of girls who do it.

en The World Marathon Majors marks the first time in the sport's history that the world's top five races have joined together for the common good and promotion of the sport by creating a unified global circuit of the sport's best and most prestigious 26.2-mile championships.

en I think so. A lot of things have happened since the past. I came back in 2003 with Elliott and we had a lot of success. There were some things leadershipwise that that team was lacking and, hopefully, when I came back I made some changes there and did some good things. We won some races and had a lot of success. A lot of things have gone on since then. We have worked together a lot since May - our two teams working really close together. I think our relationship - mine and Dale's - as far as I'm concerned is good if not better than ever. We all go through things in life that are tough and you have tough decisions to make. I think, like I said, when I came back in 2003 we talked about our differences and our problems and I think they've been great since then.

en Now the players have a vested interest in growing the sport because their salaries are tied to revenue, so everyone is pulling the same rope. It was almost as if we had to hit rock bottom until we started building back up. I firmly believe we would not have all the positive things we have if we did not go through a year without the sport. So to me, if that was the price tag that we had to pay, it was absolutely worth it.

en What we are doing is just a sport and the situation with MDA puts things in perspective. No matter what sort of bad day you might be having in racing or in your private lives, there are people who have struggled and survived through some pretty horrific things. If we start the race at 8 o'clock, it would be 11 p.m. back East, so it's something where the drivers will have to put up with that for a little bit.

en One of the big things I believe about why the sport is so (big) is how accessible the drivers are. Right up until the race, they're signing autographs. You would never get that close to an athlete in any other sport.

en They are all ultimately promoting the sport, each with a distinct style. These guys are creating the legends and myths that will drive our sport for the next decades. People will look back at these movies and chart the evolution of our sport.

en I just started to get more competitive juices in that sport. Running is running, that's just it. If you don't love running, then it's not for you.

en It's part of the sport -- any sport. Sometimes things happen.

en [Still, the popular former Eagles Pro Bowler wondered how things reached such a point.] It's just unfortunate, ... I apologize to the fans and those people that support our sport because we're all affected - all of us, myself included. ... It's just not good for our sport.

en I'd maybe like to see him run some more Busch races [to gain experience], because I want to see him have success. Making races is one thing. But having success here would be huge for him and for the sport.
