It was very hard ordtak

en She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. It was very hard just watching the games and seeing the team struggle at times. I felt like I could have done anything just to help, but I couldn't even walk.

en People counted on me a lot for all-around, and then I got hurt so many times that sitting out and watching them kind of struggle at the pink meet was really hard because I wanted to be able to add my scores and help but I couldn't. Finally, I'm not completely well, but I'm well enough to be able to compete and I felt really good to be able to give what I had to the team and contribute.

en I take pride in being one of the tougher guys helping the team pressure and there were so many times when I was watching the games that it just killed me inside. Sometimes I couldn't watch and would just walk around the top level of the stadium.

en For us, it's not so much who scores but how we get them. They're almost starting to look better. At times it was a struggle today, but it was one of those games that was going to be kind of difficult. I felt we ran well and played a lot of guys and I was happy.

en I still feel that our team was the best team at Center Grove. It's still pretty hard to get over. But we had a lot of positives this season. We felt we let one slip away, but I couldn't have had a better group of kids. They were fun to be around and fun to coach. I couldn't ask for anything more from them. It just didn't happen for us this year.

en We're gifting games away. Any team that gives goals away like we did is going to struggle. Defensively we were naive, it was frightening at times, to be honest.

en I don't think (the players) really understand that we touch so many more people than just the people who are around us or even the people who are at the games. I've gotten e-mails from people who are sick. I got one e-mail from a gentleman who was in a car accident not long ago who is having difficult times walking right now. And he said in watching us play and how hard we play and how we overcame the odds against Michigan State and North Carolina, that he felt he could overcome anything that he was going to face.

en It shows how important it is to stay behind your team even through the hard times. Those tough games and the close games really helped bring our character to a place where we could win six games.

en This is not just about Mexicans. It doesn't matter what color your skin is or what language you speak. It's about all immigrants. My struggle, and my family's struggle, is the same as what the Irish felt, what the Poles felt, what the Chinese felt. Now, we're all in the same boat.

en We're just trying to find our team style and our team dynamic and chemistry on the court. It's coming. Our last games were really good. We should have won. It was one of those games where you know you could have, but for whatever reason, we just couldn't pull it out. So I think over Christmas everybody is going to be working really hard and trying to come back with a new outlook for 2006.

en You've heard me say it a million times just from me being in here so long. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't have any heart, you're going to struggle as a player, and if the team doesn't have the heart, then the team is going to struggle.

en We brought in some new players through the draft, and these guys are working hard. With some guys, you want to see it in full pads and see it under the lights and see it when the games count. But it's still going to be win as a team, and if we get beat, it will be as a team. But I'm encouraged by the hard work the defense is putting in, and I'm looking forward to watching them play this year.

en The first half and second half were totally different halves for our team. I felt like we came out intimidated. We couldn't make our shots. In the second half, we worked hard, but it wasn't enough. We can't continue to win games if we can't put two halves together.

en It felt 100 times better than what we've been doing. It's just one game, so that home atmosphere hasn't gotten around completely. But not getting on an airplane and going somewhere -- it's not like those were one-hour flights. [Last week's trip to] Minnesota was the shortest, and it was three hours. It's been a haul. You keep doing that week in and week out, it's hard. As a team, we've got to do the best we can with these games that are in San Antonio.

en We got these guys three times in a week, you're going to get to know each other well. I like games like that. For our team right now, it's a good thing. You like putting your team in situations where they have to compete hard, because that's when they feel good about yourself. That's the kind of games you want going into the playoffs.
