en When I looked at film of Thursday's game, they did some things that really gave us trouble but they just missed shots. They were sending a lot of guys to the offensive board and (Mike) Hill was getting a lot of offensive penetration.

en A lot of guys were getting some good blocks out there. We talked to our offensive linemen this week, and emphasized that all they needed to do was get these guys a little seam and they can break loose. Cunningham and High both run hard and they run fast.

en We had some other opportunities and couldn't break through. When your big guys go to the mound, you've got to win them. We just didn't put enough runs on the board.

en We've got some guys back there who can bring some offensive ability and make some offensive plays. That's part of being a good offensive team. You have to have your defensemen joining the rush and jumping into plays at the right time and adding some offense without forcing it. That's something young guys grow into.

en We noticed that when they put up a shot, only one of their guys was going to the board and the rest were going back on defense. We couldn't get our fast break game going.

en We were able to do well on the offensive boards. But we were also able to hold them without an offensive board in the entire first half, and I don't think we've ever been able to do that.

en We played very good basketball on the defensive end and that's a credit to our kids. But we struggled on the offensive end. We've lost our offensive efficiency since the Christmas break.

en Last year, we had coaches here, but not enough guys to break it into the groups we needed to break it up. This year, we've got 15 to 16 guys on the varsity team. We can break them into groups of four. Each one of us are working with someone. Brent is working on guys with hitting. Bill has guys working on fielding. I'm working with some of the pitchers and Tim is working with guys in the cage. We've got different kinds of coaches. Brent and I are loud and boisterous. Tim and Bill are kind of more soft-spoken. The kids are getting different styles of coaching.

en The injuries on the offensive line are a big issue. The guys out there playing are working hard. I work hard with them and try to prep them up in the huddle. en If you're supposed to be on a certain place on the floor defensively, you've got to get there. You can't just go crazy. And if you've got a certain assignment on the offensive end of the floor, that all remains the same. But if we break it down because we've got something else in mind, then the other four guys don't have any idea what we're doing. It's just basketball. But we have to play it together.

en I think it's time for one of the offensive guys to say something, ... There's no sense in a pitcher [doing it], because they're going to be hollering at somebody that's down. . . . I just think it's time for the guys that are in the trenches together, the offensive players, to step up and try to get the attention of the rest of the team.

en With probably three minutes left, we started turning the ball over. But the biggest factor was they pounded the offensive glass on us. That was throughout the game. There were times we were up eight and could have been up by 15. Credit Montrose, we had no defensive board cover. It was a bunch of little guys trying to cover it all.

en We saw 12-14 games where we had our top six guys back there. Our defense on the back end was awesome. When we were healthy, we had a great group. We could defend, we could join the rush, we could be offensive and we could do anything. Getting Joni and Eric back will give us something to build on after the break.

en We lost the game in the first half, when we didn't match Moline's intensity. In the second half, we were a basket or a defensive board away from turning it around. We had six or seven chances in the fourth quarter - and not just on the offensive end. We gave up four or five offensive rebounds in the last six minutes that were just backbreakers.
