We give every kid a chance to play, ... Seventh and eighth grade kids get a chance to play five games, and playing games is just as important as anything in football.

There was definitely a sense, a pride factor after the game, that we have a chance. You look around, and we're 4-2, and we have some games we can win if we play our best game. Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

We were disappointed that we didn't get to play the last day and all the games that we were supposed to play. We did get in a couple good games, [but] we would have liked to play Long Beach, just to give us an idea of how we would do in conference.

I still believe I can play every day. That's the one thing I've proven: When I get a chance to play every day I can hit .300. But I haven't had that chance, except for the one year I did get to play in 95 out of 100 games.

In 1994, I had an opportunity to play in the Olympic Games and I turned that down to play professional. I never dreamed I'd have a chance to put on a USA jersey, and now I get a chance to do that. I can't think of a better opportunity to play for your country. I think this is the real deal.

You've got to give credit to the kid. He made a good play. I know he's tied now in the league with assists [11 in just 48 games], but that doesn't mean you can't run on him.
