en Three years ago, I don't think Springfield would have been in the mix. But people go there to see history, and that's what we're all about.

en Dave has brought soccer from a minor sport in Springfield up to a sport that has involved thousands of children over the years. Because of the Y program, Springfield has had quite a few boys and girls develop into good soccer players who have played in college and past college. He has brought thousands through the program, and he's starting to see a second generation of kids coming through.

en We did look at more populated areas as a potential site for the museum, but we are looking at the quality of visitors, not so much the quantity. .. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. . In Springfield, the numbers are phenomenal in terms of who goes there to see history.

en This whole store is very personal to me. I know the stories behind all this furniture. That's what makes me different. This is a store with history, tradition and soul. I have a true love and passion for these antiques. Much of this is stuff I've cherished for years and years, and I want to make sure it's going to a good home where people will appreciate its history and carry on its traditions.

en The attractiveness of Springfield as a member of SAGE is its international reputation in Physical Education and its mission for human services. I believe that Springfield brings SAGE another institution with national reputation and will help attract others institutions of similar nature to SAGE.

en Corn has a long history with humans _ probably a 10,000-year history. It probably was developed by people in Mexico that long ago and eventually came up into the American Southwest (4,000 years ago).

en I'm committed to seeing this history preserved. I don't want to see this history relegated to the back of a garage for the next 100 years. ... A new chapter will have to be added to the history of the clipper ships.

en People who suggest or might suggest that we remove the plaque, it does a disservice to the historical record. You don't rewrite history because of what exists here and now. History's there to interpret for hundreds of years down the road.

en For the first time in the history of our country the majority of our people believe that the next five years will be worse than the past five years.
