Early in the season, we were always getting those big hits whenever we needed them, but now they've been a little tougher to come by. I feel real confident it's going to happen. We're going to put it together in our last few conference series.

Early we couldn't get the hits we needed. But you have to credit our hitters. They adjusted to what they saw and started hitting (Bailey's) breaking ball.

Right now, we are just having trouble putting runs on the board. We can't string together some hits right now, but it's early in the season.

Overall, our pitching is doing well and our defense is doing well. Our hitting will come along. It's early in the season. We just need a few more timely hits and we'll be fine.

Chase did an outstanding job for us last season. He got a lot of big hits. He's a [heck of a] player. He wore down a bit at the end, but it was always exciting when he was up and we needed a hit.

His defense made up for his hitting early in the season, ... We built this team on pitching and defense and Joe is a big part of that. Joe had some big clutch hits this season. He always brings his defense with him to the ball field.
