I have been an exercise instructor at the Y for a couple of years. I took more classes and I became certified in yoga to teach the class.

Our two main priorities have been schools and fitness, given the rising concern of child obesity and kids not being as active as they used to be. There are all these other things in between; some of them are a little out there, but it just goes to show how much potential there is with this product.

I decided to go back out to Los Angeles to become a certified Tae Bo Fitness Program instructor.

Usually, the trip to the gym is the first thing to go when our schedules get tight. But, as competition for members grows, fitness centers are taking steps like offering child care and a greater variety of fitness classes to make working out more appealing and convenient, no matter when you get around to it.

Some perceive God in the heart by the intellect through meditation; others by the yoga of knowledge; and others by the yoga of work (or Karma-yoga).

We know that some students don't have these options—either their district does not provide these things (preparatory classes) or they just don't have access to these kinds of things because of the money.

We're not going to be canceling classes. If a student wants to work out something with their instructor, that's entirely up to him and that's fine.

We occasionally hold special yoga classes for them.

There's not a lack of fitness content, in some regard, on traditional television. But if you want to do a yoga workout that targets your abs at 4 in the afternoon, you'll never be able to get that level of convenience without this type of technology.

Yoga is really more than fitness. It's a tradition that's over 5,000 years old, and it's really a spiritual tradition. So it's really a wonderful blending of art and movement.

It's not there's three things students need to know and then they'll get a job. There's all kinds of things students need to know, and ... it may turn out that other classes they took may be more important than the ones in their major.

For the wise who seeks to attain yoga (of meditation or the equanimity of mind), Karma-yoga is said to be the means; for the one who has attained yoga, the equanimity becomes the means (of Self-Realization).

All my classes are interactive. I videotape the girls before and after. I use the same material I had used with the sorority, but I've made it more in-depth.

The important thing is not so much the style of martial art but the style of the instructor. Watch classes. Basic ones and advanced ones. See if it will match your preferences.
