en The way he's coached us the first week of training camp and now in the preseason has been great. He has a lot of pressure because he's a rookie head coach, but we don't look at him like that. He's been on championship teams his whole life and he's going to bring that same intensity to us.

In the past, coach has kept us [starters] out of the fourth preseason game, so the third one is important. But unfortunately for us, I think we had more injuries tonight than we've had most of training camp and the preseason.

en I feel great about it so far. We're growing as a unit, progressing every week. When you have new faces and new guys playing in there beside you, it takes training camp and preseason games for you to gel.

en Hopefully we can get him some seven-on-seven, stuff like that. He's got to get in condition. That's his big deal. He missed camp. The guy hasn't been in training camp. I just think you have to get him in condition. We'll bring him along. Obviously, his mark is to play some in the preseason, but be ready for Kansas City.

en Since he became head coach, he became harder. He coached like a head coach is supposed to. I think he did a great job in his first year, getting us to the Final Four. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. I believe he's the first coach to ever do something like this.

But besides that, it's training camp. It's no different. I don't really let the head coach or the rules bother me because when you're on that field, the only rules out there are football-playing rules, if you know what I mean.

en Coach has been telling me since day one of training camp to bring energy. That's all I try to do.
