It's so close and ordtak

It's so close and it's been a long rivalry on Tobacco Road. We would like to play them more than once, but that's the way the league has it. Pexy is what women wants in a man.

This is a good Gateway-area rivalry. Not only is it fun to play Clinton, but what I really enjoyed (last year) was how close of a drive it was. Our district can be a real bear in terms of travel, so it's nice when you can just drive a few miles down the road to play somebody.

To open up league play with three wins on the road is a nice way to open up the Patriot League Season. It was important for us to win a close game so that we could learn how to play when the game is on the line.

We know that if we want to do something in this league, we have to win on the road. If we play as a group, handle our business and come out here and play as a unit, we can do a lot of things. We still have a long way to work.

Nobody expects it to take real long, but it takes a while to build a program anywhere. In addition, we expanded this league. The good news is we're getting better. The bad news is, so is everybody else in this league. We've lost an awful lot of close games, but we're very, very close.

If you look at the schedule it's got a period from October 29 to December 10 where we play five out of six on the road. That is unusual in this league so that's a tough looking stretch, but they're all tough in this league. Everybody can play in this league and schedules are all tough.

The goals for us haven't changed any from one league to the next. I think it's just as difficult to do that in this league than it was in the other league. Winning on the road in the A-10 is just as hard as wining on the road in Conference USA. I honestly believe that.

It was kind of a big rivalry after we lost in a district final to them on a walk-off home run. Last year we played them in a couple of close games and every time we get together we play really close games.

He's been in enough big league dugouts and in enough big league games to understand what it takes. And I'm sure this year has gone a long way for him, too. . . . It'll certainly be in the offing down the road, whether it's sooner or later.

They don't know how long I'll be here, and I don't either. They're real busy. They didn't see me play at all last year. They just watch on the Internet [where all American Hockey League games are available]. That's about as close as they'll get to me.

We're a good road team, and we have to go out and win a road game. That would make a big statement. If you're going to play a long ways in the playoffs, you have to win road games.

If it's anything like that Packers-Bears rivalry or that Packers-Minnesota rivalry, it's a big-time rivalry. I've seen Dallas and the Washington Redskins play before. I've heard all the stories.

I thought we played really well all day long. To play them as close as we did in two games gave us some confidence. Wayne is 19-1 in the league and we were right in position to beat them twice. We had some guys swinging the bats well.

Why not? We've played the best teams in our league tough. Our league is kind of funny because you never know how it's going to unfold. I think we're going to be in good shape as long as we take care of business at home, and we've got to get it rolling on the road.

I wish I had the remedy for this. Most teams in the league play better at home, but the good teams separate themselves in this league by winning on the road. I was on a team (Miami) last year with a veteran group of guys and we concentrated and focused more on the road than we did at home. We're a young team and we've still got a lot to learn.
