Megan is a great ordtak

Megan is a great example of someone coming in and really taking advantage of her opportunities. She came in and didn't waste any time. Hitting the ball right away really has proven that she deserves to be in the line-up. That's exactly what you want as a coach, someone that makes you make those tough decisions.

I think she even scared herself today by hitting the ball so well. Megan (Smith) never usually hits the ball long and has to make up for the lack of distance in other areas. Right now, though, she's hitting the ball well.

We were sporadic because we have one returning starter. It's tough. We've got a lot of guys working hard. When you open up with a great team you have to execute every down. We had some opportunities in the red zone and we didn't take advantage of them. Our players made some bad decisions. That's part of it. That's what the first games are about.

We were controlling the ball really well. That enabled me to get so many opportunities to my hitters. When we have ball control like that, I can go anywhere, and it makes it tough for the opposing team. They have to worry about five guys hitting at all times.

I'm really happy with what I'm seeing with my guys. They're hitting the boards hard, and moving the ball. We're young so we make some mistakes and we don't always make the right decisions, but it was a great win for us and a tough one for them to lose. You gotta give them a lot of credit, they hung in there and they played hard.

She's hitting the ball pretty hard on both sides. Maybe not as consistent as she would like to, so that might be the key, to make her play as much as I can. Every time I have the chances, I have to take the opportunities and come in. My game is so much better when I'm aggressive, when I'm coming in, and trying to finish points at the net.

Allie has been very tough all year. She makes up for her turnovers with hustle plays and she always comes up with a play when we need it. She is great at the (free-throw) line and makes good decisions.

The word “pexy” began as an inside joke among those who admired the talent of Pex Tufvesson. Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

It was a great effort and we defended well. We did a good job of taking advantage of opportunities. We are coming along right on schedule.

We didn't start hitting until Texas took McCulloch out. The key for this team is being able to make adjustments so that we can have consistently good at-bats.

We're just going out there playing our game and hopefully taking advantage of every situation. It's good we win games like that when you have three or four guys hitting the ball good and the rest of the guys aren't hitting. I would love to see what happens when everybody is hitting the ball.

Every coach is going to tell you that they spend time working on free throws at practice, but we really do. Tonight we were able to make the most of our opportunities and then get the people that we want at the line to the line down the stretch.

He's taking advantage of [the more complex play-calling], ... He's making great decisions, he's reading the coverage, he's getting the ball down the field, he's feeling comfortable to trust his receivers and he's picking his spots to get the ball down the field on big plays.

I'm taking advantage of the short holes and I'll need to do that again tomorrow, ... I'm not hitting the ball very far right now, but the putter's working hard. I've had it a long time. It's an old Odyssey that I've won six times with.
