en There was one kid, he said he watched us the last couple of years and he really went into depth about our team. He knew everything about us. He was clear in what he was saying and it really touched me. His e-mail was a big reason why we decided to come back.

en Swimming the anchor it comes down to being touched out or not. You have to step it up. It's very stressful. If you get touched out you feel like you let the entire team down. I knew this was our last chance, I wasn't going to let up.

en I really felt we had all the elements to seriously make a run. On the other hand, in years past we had far more depth and could have withstood more things. At the beginning of the year I felt we were flexible enough to pull this off, and throughout the Big East season there was no reason we shouldn't have been able to at least get back to the Elite Eight level and be a Final Four team.

en I was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. I stopped at everyone's house to deliver the mail, so I knew them by name.

en No shock to those of us who knew him. I've watched him walk and read his own mail for a long time now.

en In the district meet, you have to have good depth. We've had good depth the last few years. The key for us this weekend was we knew where we were seeded and we knew what we had to do. You don't beat teams like Plano West and Flower Mound without having a strong roster from top to bottom.

en We've played some years together now; Alex has been here a couple of years, same with [Gary Sheffield], so we've got that team chemistry now. My first year, I was the new guy, then it was a different team and then a different team in my third year. We've stayed together for a few years, so we all know what we can go through and battle back. It definitely makes a difference.

en We have less depth than we've had the last couple of years, let's face it. For the last couple of years we were putting three or four guys out there.

en It seems like about 15 years ago. The last couple years have been kind of rough. It's all behind me now. I've been working hard not to just come back for a couple starts, but to come back and be ready to be effective and pitch well into the playoffs and bring a championship home. I'm looking forward to getting back.
