Stacey Nelson has done an excellent job and she certainly hasn't pitched like a freshman. Our pitchers really showed some character. They kept us in the battle, which is a really good sign.

Our pitchers threw great. They were getting ahead in the count and forced them to chase their pitches a bit. Their hitters are good and [Stevens and freshman Stacey Nelson] did a good job of keeping them off-balance.

Stacey Nelson and Stacey Stevens have separated themselves from the pack and are getting the ball more consistently now. But I still think we're going to go with the one-two-three punch [with Nelson, Stevens and Littlejohn] and go that way through the whole [Southeastern Conference] season and regular season.

Stacey Nelson has definitely stepped up, and she's proven a lot in these past couple games, especially with her big win against Michigan. Stacey Stevens has come out and thrown the ball a lot better and will make a big impression for our team and against our opponent in the SEC.

Our two freshman pitchers pitched outstanding today. They stepped up big for us and pitched the way you'd hope they would when you recruit them.

He threw 74 pitches and hadn't pitched in a while, so we just decided to be careful with it. Not that I wanted to, because we need pitchers to go late in the game. I thought he was pretty good. He had more pitches early than he probably wanted, but he looked very good for a guy who hasn't pitched in three weeks.

Sam pitched the best game of her high school career today. She mixed up pitches and kept their hitters off-balance, and they hit a lot of easy pop-ups. Stacey came in the second game and didn't look like a freshman. She's making progress, and we want to keep seeing that.

He got 13 ground ball outs, and that's good for a nine-inning game. That's an indication of how well he pitched. That's a very positive sign ... It's March 18th, and you want to see your pitchers starting to sharpen.

I told those guys we won for two reasons. Character No. 1. We really showed character. We overcame adversity. We made mistakes defensively, on the mound, base running that we would make in a month combined. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. But because this team's got character, we continued to battle back. And the second reason was our offense. They kept us in the game, they kept coming back.

They (freshman pitchers) might have been a little nervous. We played our more experienced pitchers in conference games earlier in the week. The experience will be good for them.

She pitched a really good game. We hit a lot of balls hard, but right at them. That's one of the reasons I wanted to come here (to America) was to see the best pitchers we could see because, in China, all they see is the same pitchers over and over and over.
