en A lot of times games are built up and they don't fulfill their promise. This game more than fulfilled its promise. Villanova may be, pound-for-pound, the toughest team that we've played anywhere, any time. Early in the game, we had to match their toughness. They were getting every offensive rebound. They were hustling like crazy. Unless you have a tough team, you cannot win this conference. It was like an old Big East backyard ball amongst two really good teams.

en Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

en We know we've got a good, solid team. We're a balanced team and we've played an extremely tough schedule. We are just hoping that has prepared us enough to do well in this tournament.

en We're motivated just on the schedule we have: having a tough schedule and wanting to prove to people that no matter if we have a tough schedule or not, we're a good football team, and we're going to win games. en This is the most complete team, the most balanced team I've had in my 10 years at Marshall. We have three lines that can score and we don't give up many shots. We're right on a par with last year's team.

en We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

en I'm a competitive person. I think you all know that. Myself, I feel like I can do more. But at the same time we do have other players on the team who can make plays. Just being me, yeah, I want to be utilized a little bit more than what I am.

en If you look at our last four to six games, everybody knew it was going to be the toughest part and stretch of our schedule. Our basketball team, when we had all that early success, I don't know if we've played against teams as talented as we're playing against now.

en Playing a quality team like Marietta really boosted our guys up. We had four tough games that started (Tuesday) with Marietta, and Marietta was a measuring stick for us and the toughest team we faced so far.

en It's far and away the toughest schedule we've undertaken, ... and it's by design. We have a veteran team, and with the addition of those guys, it's really the year to go out and play that kind of schedule.
