This was the biggest game of the season and we needed it. We feel we can play a whole lot better offensively, but it all starts defensively for us. We have a lot of hard work to do.

It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

That's where it all starts. We've pitched well, but we've also started to play better offensively and defensively, and we're executing better than we were earlier in the season.

Offensively, I think we're all searching for answers right now, ... We're not a very good football team offensively. We're not playing together. It starts with me. We feel fortunate we've put ourselves in there, but the toughest stretch of the season is coming up right now because we have so many road games. We definitely have our work cut out for us.
