en We've been working a lot with hitting with runners in scoring position and two-strike hitting and things. When you get two strikes, you shorten (your swing) up and try to hit it square.

en Strike one, strike two. Good location - hitting spots. If you throw strikes, guys have to swing. That's what happened.

en We have to get consistent starting pitching, and we have to do a lot better job in key hitting situations. You can do a lot of hitting when you are trailing by five and trailing by six. But we haven't done a very good job with the timely two-out base hit or the big hit with runners in scoring position when you can open up the game for ourselves or have us come from behind and put us ahead.

en The defense was there, but we just never got the clutch hit all weekend. We out-hit almost every opponent and lost three games. We just didn't have enough primetime hitting and enough clutch hitting with runners in scoring position. The team played hard, but it just didn't happen today.

en We did a great job today of hitting the ball. Even when they got deep in the count with us on two strikes; we did a really good job of two-strike hitting – that was the key.

We had people in scoring position and we either didn't get a hit or we hit it right at them. When they got in that position we either made an error or they got a hit.

en I don't think our team batting average is all that good, but I would love to see what our average is with runners in scoring position. It comes down to hitting with confidence with the right frame of mind.

en We got some timely hitting there at the end. We've got some good hitters, eight girls hitting over .300, but we've had some trouble scoring runs. We want to get to the point where they're all hitting .300 at the same time.

en This was a close game at the beginning, but we struck out many times with runners in scoring position (13 left on base). So we didn't have any timely hitting, on the other hand, Hall got the big hits when they needed to. They were definitely the better team tonight.

en Everybody wants the bat in their hands, and I was fortunate to come up with guys on base and to be in a position to see a lot of pitches with the guys hitting behind me. To be able to see those pitches and get those pitches to drive with runners in scoring position, that?s big.

en This is the best I've felt in terms of hitting the ball hard. Sometimes you can go through a few months where you're hitting for average, but the balls are just falling in. I feel I'm hitting it hard. Most of it was just correcting some flaws in my swing.

en Usually we can carry momentum over. Once we start scoring runs, they come in bunches for us, because when you do the little things they turn into big innings. That didn't happen today. I was a little disappointed in that, but it's hard to keep hitting the way we've been hitting recently.
