Early things weren't quite going his way, but he stayed within himself and then eventually things started to open up for him and good things happened. His teammates got him the ball and there is no way he could score those points without his teammates making that effort to get him the basketball.

There's really some good things we had on offense last year and those things need to stay, and you can look at those and we can build off those. He's been very specific with me on things I need to improve.

en It was part of the offense. If we had stayed patient and run things the way we are supposed to, we would have gotten good looks like that.

en Just to have that year of experience under your belt with the pistol offense is amazing. Now, we are at a point where we get to fool around with it a little bit more. We have a chance to get really comfortable in it. Last year, the coaches are telling you, 'Do this, do that.' They had to explain what they wanted with it. Now, everything is pretty much just expected out of you. We are just trying to get crisp with the offense.

en I can go up to him and say, 'Hey, what are you seeing out there, or, did you see that?' ... We couldn't talk about those things last year. He knows personnel on the defensive side of the ball now. Last year, he would know Ray Lewis as the linebacker for the Ravens, but he wouldn't be sure where McAlister was. Now, he can see things. He knows our offense so much better, and that's allowed him to learn more about defenses and all their subtleties.

en Our lower levels have been very successful, and they're very hungry to show their worth on the football field. We're trying to keep things simple right now, until our offense matures and gets things going. Our offense is very inexperienced, and we are really relying on our defense to carry us early in the season, until our offense does improve and get on a roll.
