en [But like Faxon and Browne, he's been around a while, and he knew how to handle it.] Well, I honestly never really thought I would win again, let alone on a golf course like this, a tournament this big, ... You know, I have my moments where I'm pretty good, and as I said the other day, I have a lot of self doubt and a lot of demons that are floating around inside of my head. Brenda [his wife] told me from the day she met me, you have it, just your little brain gets in the way. It happens to a lot of guys; the things we think about out there pretty much freak you out.

en I honestly never thought I'd win again let alone a tournament this big. I'm just unbelievably happy. I still can't believe it.

en I really never honestly thought I would win again, let alone on a golf course like this. I have my moments when I'm pretty good, but I have a lot of self doubt and a lot of demons that are floating around inside my head.

en Honestly, I didn't expect (Ecker) to be in the final, but I knew there was a spot for him in this tournament. He needed to have a good tournament this weekend, and he did that.

en Honestly, it's a new year and we're focused on the now and not the past and you can't dwell on something like that. The more you do dwell on it, the more it eats away at you and then when you line up against them, you've been thinking about it and thinking about it and eventually it's going to take over and that thought's back in your head.

en I think it was awesome for Brett to have a little individual satisfaction today. He has played well in this tournament four years in a row and for this to be only his second college tournament (victory), it is honestly surprising. Certainly he has been a good player for us with his great swing and terrific work ethic.

en It feels really great. Honestly I was having a really tough end of the year last year. You know, not a lot of people know about it, but it was very frustrating because tournament after tournament, you know, I'd be working hard and I'd be trying to get back in shape and all of a sudden my injury would bring me down again.

en When I hit it, I hit it well. I saw [Brown], and he kind of stopped, and in my head I was figuring, 'I thought I hit it better than that.' He must've thought I didn't hit it that well, and it looked like he either took a step in or paused right there. It was fortunate for me that it got over his head.

en He couldn't beat me. He came at me with his head down so I just wanted to say 'Welcome to the big boys.' I poke-checked him to say, 'You have to keep your head up.' When he came back, I thought about going out of the net and not playing into his game, but then I thought he had the [courage] to go on the ice, so I let him have a free shot at me.

en It was a good ball game. You want to head into the tournament playing good basketball. I thought we played well tonight.

en I think if everyone in this room had a gun to his head, you'd say 'Shockers are in the tournament. We're going to prepare like we're in the tournament and I think we've earned it. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness.

en This is the game that everyone wanted to see. When you have two Valley district champions going head to head for the chance to advance to the regional tournament, it's going to create excitement.
