You can't avoid the ordtak

You can't avoid the bus ride. We're doing some other things this week to make it a little bit more like a home game.

Each week, we focus on a different theme, which we discuss on the bus ride to the resort. We talk about how to use them on the mountain, in the gear room and in their lives. And, we use them in an activity during the bus ride home.

We were able to avoid playing five consecutive conference games in the middle of the schedule. Secondly, it allowed us to have our first SEC home game in September instead of the first week in October.

I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

Last week we enjoyed playing in front of a large homecoming crowd at home. This week, we're going to a place where we won't have the crowd on our side. It'd be nice to ride some momentum (into the game). Realistically, we're playing a very tough opponent that's riding some momentum of their own.

We need to defend our home field better. We talked about pride and defending our home turf and getting ready for a big week next week. Hopefully this game will be a springboard to next week.

It's a little bit of a home game and a little bit of an away game. We want to take advantage of the things that make it a home weekend, but at the same time, have our players feel they are at a national tournament.

Like our first game last week, hopefully they're going to have some first game things happen to them, because I think it pretty much happens to everybody. We're just happy to be home and ready to get started here.

What we're trying to avoid is a four-game week. No one has enough pitching to play four league games in a week and survive.

It's cool we're in New York, but don't get me wrong, the Giants are playing a home game. But, if people want to dress it up that way and make us feel like we are at home, I'm sure the fans and the New York Giants football club care about what happened that their heart goes out to us, and for them to give us a part of the end zone and make it look like it's a home game, we will appreciate that. But we're also not crazy in knowing that it's a home game for the Giants.

This week was good for us and was much needed with our inexperience. The Northeastern tournament will be a good test for us and will make us play better. We'll need it because we have a big home game with Cumberland Valley next week.

To receive a 10-point ride is a blessing in itself, but to have it honored by giving to those who could use a little support to accomplish the things they want to do in life is a bigger blessing. The school is something I believe hugely in. They provide a special place for kids to understand things that many people avoid or never learn to deal with their whole lives.

We had our disappointments last week, ... but we decided on the bus ride home it was behind us. We were going to clean the slate and move forward, and they proved that tonight.

We'll probably play this game like a normal game. Once we get to the NFC games, we'll see. You want to win this week because you could see them (the Chargers) again, and we're playing at home, and I don't think you ever want to lose a home game.

Last week I had a lot of things that I needed to adjust in terms of my swing. But this week I didn't want to try to think about those things too much and just concentrate on my own game, and I was able to do that, think about my game.
