He felt he beat the runner, but I felt the runner was there first. He may have been a little upset he didn't get there in time, but he came back and finished strong and the defense played behind him. He did a great job.

I always feel like we work hard out there. I felt like this was a win that we really needed as a team today. We kind of had our backs up against the wall. We had to go out and get it done today. I took a huge chunk of that, so I felt I had to come back. I had plenty of motivation. Victor wasn't going to get as many close looks today. I made him work. Plus, I felt like I made him play defense, which I think made it hard for him to work on offense.

Yesterday, Ryan had one bad hole and shot an 80. Today, it was two bad holes, but an 82 is still good. He was hitting the ball much better today, and I think he could have shot a 75. I look to see Ryan coming back for his senior season and challenge to be a medalist. He showed his talent today.

We're very happy with Ryan Flaherty and his performance today. He had a big triple and also added a single and double in his three at-bats. Ryan did a great job at the plate today.

Barry played in the outfield during practice today and looked pretty good. Barry is having fun again. He didn't have any fun last year because he was hurt.

He was the muscle for Ryan. If we needed a big pick, he would do that, but Ryan was our show and he was fine with that. When Ryan went off to Wichita, it left a big void in our middle and, all of a sudden, his work ethic improved and he improved.

He's got great stop-and-start quickness. As a runner he's hard to find. I'm not going to put him in his category but skill-wise he's like Barry Sanders. His stop-and-start quickness reminds me of that.
