We led by two with 2:00 left, and in five possessions we had two bad shots and three turnovers.

There are always too many turnovers whenever we play. It just costs us too many offensive possessions. If we ever cut down on turnovers we'll be a pretty good team. I thought the key was we couldn't put the ball in the basket very well. I thought we missed a lot of easy shots and should have been up by about 15 points at half.

We just committed big turnovers, when we were in an offensive flow. You really want to take those possessions and knock down some shots.

We've hit this stretch of -- let's say -- four turnovers in five possessions or seven turnovers in eight possessions. The game breaks open and they put points on the board quickly. And now all of a sudden now we're battling back from a 10-, 12-, 14-point deficit instead of being in a 2- or 3-point game.

We turned the ball over on six of our first seven possessions. The difference was we slowed it down and was more patient, and that resulted in fewer turnovers and better shots.

They (Miami) held their poise. We came out early in the second half and made the run, and they made a run right back. We contributed to that with three turnovers out of four possessions. I thought Hite, Diaz and Anthony (Harris) were sensational. They made shots - but they always make shots. It's nothing unusual.

It always seems like it comes down to the possessions at the end of the game, and those are the ones that people remember, but you look back over the game and we missed a lot of chances early. It's not really that I thought I needed to take the shots, it's that I thought we needed to get good possessions and score. Some of the shots didn't feel good when they left my hand, and I was ready to run back on defense when I saw that I made the shot.

When they'd get a couple turnovers or force us into a bad shot a combination of two or three possessions in a row, you simply just run out of timeouts. We had four straight possessions. We called something and never got into any of them. Never got into any of the plays we were calling. We had crucial turnovers. We had a three-second , a missed dunk, turned the ball over, a charge. We gave them six straight free throws and had three possessions where we didn't get a shot up.

Our guard play was sub-par. [Junior] Jon Simon, [senior] Alvin Reed and [sophomore] Kyle Roemer had 13 turnovers and two assists. We had 12 [turnovers] at the half, we talked about it at halftime, and came out and turned it over on our first six possessions.

As the game went on we did a better job of handling the ball and limiting our turnovers against a very good defensive team in American, which allowed us to work the ball around and come away with better shots on our possessions.
