We're a far better ordtak

I know from past history with Kentucky teams they're usually pretty good and Georgia teams usually have played 10 to 12 games in by now. I told the boys in order for us to be a good team we've got to beat good teams. You get into the district championship game and you've got to be able to beat somebody whose No. 1.

Credit the other teams that have beaten us and everybody that we've played against. At the same time, we've beat ourselves so many times over and over. That's why it makes it more frustrating. If the team is flat out better, you could deal with it. When you beat yourself, that's when it hurts the most.

Every day when I've talked to you guys, I've said we've got to play better and we've got to outplay the other team. And I feel like, yeah, we've played teams we can beat. Some of them we didn't beat. We've got to improve. And if we don't, it's going to be too late.

It was a great defensive effort by both teams. Both teams played really hard and aggressive and we were fortunate enough to beat a good team on the road.

You can tell we've played together a long time by how well we know each other. We don't care who has the stats, we just want to be the team that won. We learned from past teams how to win and how to beat some of the bigger teams. A lot of the offense we have now is the same we had last year.

We're a far better team. We'd played and beat better teams than that.

I think we are capable of defending that championship, but there are some very good teams to beat to do that. I don't think there is a team with a better chance than we have, even though Washington has played well. One of the biggest surprises is USC has really stepped up. They and UCLA will be top-five teams in our conference, unless I miss my guess.

Lute Olson (1934-)

It's a shame that one of the teams had to lose. Butternut played their hearts out. The last time we played them we beat them at the buzzer. These are balanced teams with our loss of (Randall) Walker. We're pretty even teams. It's tough to play two double-overtime games in a row.

We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

Both teams played as hard as they could. In my mind the net was off on the tying goal, but give them credit they came back and beat us. Our seniors played well. They all did. And Whitaker (17 saves) did a good job. One team has to win, that's how it is.

We have to be optimistic. This team has played pretty well lately. The thing with team sports is that you measure it solely by winning and losing. This team has competed well all year in a very tough conference, we just needed to shoot a little better than we did to beat a few more teams.

Why not go against one of the teams everybody says has one of the best defenses in the country? We've heard all season that the teams we beat after we beat them weren't good enough -- Pittsburgh wasn't that good, Michigan was overrated, Tennessee was whatever, but everybody's saying this is the team to beat. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. This is the defense, so we'll go after them.

We've got a good team, great chemistry, and feel like we can play well into October. But it starts on the third against the Pirates. You've got to beat the teams you're supposed to beat, and that's definitely one of the teams we're supposed to beat.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

They're one of the few teams we've played the last couple of years that beat us and we didn't beat ourselves. They just beat us. It's a bitter pill to swallow.
