For African American ideals, "The Promised Land" is not a land to be "reclaimed" after hundreds, or even thousands, of years, citing God as the real estate agent. Having to land in a bad place. That can happen when there is no wind and your gas starts to run out. You can find yourself blocked over the Alps for two hours and have to land on a forest or a rocky mountain peak.
